EUROCERT: Global Recognition in Social Accountability Certification

EUROCERT is one of only 31 certification bodies worldwide accredited by SAAS (Social Accountability Accreditation Services) to provide certification against the SA8000® Standard (Social Accountability), the world's leading and most recognized certification scheme for corporate social responsibility.

By implementing exceptionally rigorous internal procedures and consistently maintaining the highest standards in its certification services, EUROCERT has once again been recognized among the world's leading SA8000 certification bodies.

According to the annual evaluation of Certification Bodies conducted by Social Accountability Accreditation Services (SAAS) for the 2025 reporting year, EUROCERT achieved an outstanding overall score of 95%, reaffirming its commitment to impartiality, technical competence and the exceptional quality of its social accountability audits.

This distinction further confirms EUROCERT's high level of international credibility and reinforces the added value of its certificates, which enjoy the highest level of recognition and acceptance worldwide.

The SA8000 Standard is the world's leading international standard for Social Accountability and forms an integral part of the broader field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Developed by Social Accountability International (SAI), it establishes specific criteria and requirements for socially acceptable working conditions and is recognized and applied worldwide.

The standard focuses on protecting workers' rights and ensuring fair, safe and ethical working conditions, taking into account the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO) as well as the human rights principles promoted by the United Nations.

SA8000 applies to organizations of all sizes and sectors seeking to continuously improve working conditions while transparently communicating their performance to stakeholders. In addition, the standard establishes requirements that extend to subcontractors and suppliers, thereby influencing the entire supply chain.

Since the beginning of 2026, the gradual transition from SA8000:2014 to the new SA8000:2026 edition has been underway, marking a significant evolution in the management of social accountability and the protection of human rights in the workplace.

The primary objective of the new edition is to support organizations in developing and implementing a comprehensive management system based on the identification, assessment and prevention of risks related to human and labour rights.

SA8000:2026 incorporates the principles of Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD), strengthens employee participation in the operation of the management system, places greater emphasis on the effectiveness of implemented measures, and promotes the continuous improvement and maturity of Social Accountability Management Systems.

EUROCERT was the first Certification Body in Greece to be accredited by Social Accountability Accreditation Services (SAAS) in 2009 to conduct audits and issue certificates against the SA8000 Standard on a global scale.

Today, EUROCERT manages hundreds of active SA8000 certificates across Greece, Italy, India, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, North Macedonia and Kosovo, making it one of the leading certification bodies for the standard internationally.
